Twitter Blasts King Charles for Giving Kate Middleton a Family Heirloom.
In the show that airs on Netflix, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle explain how differently their respective in-laws, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, interact with the British media and members of the royal family. Following the allegations, the incident from 2018 was brought up again on Twitter. Fans were brought back to the moment when King Charles III denied Markle permission to wear the royal taira for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first state dinner, which took place in Fiji.
In October of 2018, Meghan Markle was excited to wear a piece of heritage jewellery that belonged to her family. However, this was turned down by the Prince of Wales because, in his opinion, the jewellery “reminds of a bygone period” and is “too lavish” for an event of this nature. A source told the Daily Mail that “Prince Charles informed Meghan it wasn’t appropriate since she didn’t comprehend all this because she was new to the role.” “Meghan didn’t grasp all this because she was new to the role,” the source said. However, Kate Middleton was not given the same orders as the rest of the royal family. Twitter users were reminded of the debacle, and many of them brought it up in their pleas to the monarch to show partiality.
King Charles had different rules for Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.
In 2018, Prince William and Kate Middleton attended a gala dinner at Buckingham Palace while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were attending an event at the Grand Pacific Hotel. On this special occasion, the princess dazzled in a tiara known as the Cambridge Lover’s Knot. This incident makes it abundantly evident that Prince Charles behaved differently with Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. Following the release of the documentary series, the incident went viral on social media, and many royal fans attacked the queen for making Markle feel like she didn’t belong in the family and for treating her as if she were beneath them.
In the meantime, Kate Middleton did not limit her use of family heirlooms to only the tiara as she attended the gala banquet at Buckingham Palace. The bridal necklace that Queen Alexandra wore for her own wedding was worn by the Princess of Wales to match her blue floor-length dress. In addition to that, witnesses reported seeing her wearing a diamond-studded brooch that bore a miniature portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
On the other hand, Meghan Markle went for a straightforward and understated style for her very first official engagement. She accessorised her garment with a pair of stunning diamond earrings and a bracelet, which she wore with the floor-length dress in a sky blue hue.
