The Good Mothers Plot
This British-Italian thriller centers on the aftermath of the 2009 murder of a ‘Ndrangheta wife who was killed specifically because she intended to testify against the criminal organization for the government. In addition to being murdered, her body and other remnants were burned and buried in Southern Italy.
This research led public prosecutor Alessandra Cerret to the conclusion that the mafia’s Calabrian branch’s weakness is their own misogyny.
She quietly tries to persuade three other women within the ‘Ndrangheta to stand up for themselves and ruin this empire from within. She has courtroom experience fighting these criminal clans and intuitively understands that numbers are crucial.
In addition to the full backing of the state, Ms. Cerret guarantees all three women and their children a safe refuge. According to the official synopsis, the whole existence of the mafioso’s profession and Ms. Cerret’s career is in jeopardy, and not everyone involved in the upcoming fight will survive.
