Sullivan’s Crossing Season 2 Release Date: When Will It Premiere?
Sullivan’s Crossing Season 2 Release Date: Good news, people of Nova Scotia! The second season of Sullivan’s Crossing, also known as The New Virgin River, will focus on Maggie and Cal’s friendship and, more importantly, on Maggie’s shocking news that she is pregnant.
Less than a month after the show’s sad season one finale, Deadline reported that CTV and The CW have revived the family drama for a second season. Scott Patterson, who plays Sully on the show, also posted the good news on Instagram: “The gang will be back at Sullivan’s Crossing for another season on CTV!”
We want to know what Maggie and the rest of the gang have in store for them and when we can expect a new series. Here’s what we know so far about Sullivan’s Crossing season two, from story points to who will be in it.
What Is Sullivan’s Crossing About?
The family drama is based on a book series by Robyn Carr, who also wrote Virgin River. It’s about Maggie, a neurosurgeon who leaves Boston and goes back to her hometown of Sullivan’s Crossing to get away from her messy life.
But when Maggie tries to start over, she has to face painful memories and deal with a new relationship, which makes her life even more complicated.
When was Sullivan’s Crossing Renewed?
In March 2023, Sullivan’s Crossing aired on Canada’s CTV. On June 8, the show was renewed for a second season, a few months before it started airing in the U.S. on The CW. (Just so you know, it comes out in the fall of 2023.)
Patterson told his Instagram fans about the news right after it was announced, and they didn’t wait to show how happy they were in the comments. “Great news!” said one fan. Everyone should be proud of putting on such a great show. “Can’t wait for the next season!”
What Happens in Season 2 of Sullivan’s Crossing?
We don’t know much about the plot yet, but we think that season two will pick up right where season one left off.
In case you forgot, Maggie finds out she’s pregnant, and Sully falls to the ground after having a scary memory. Also, Lola causes trouble between Maggie and Cal by keeping the message that Cal wrote for Maggie. Now, Maggie is sure that Cal gave up on her.
Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment at The CW, said in a statement that fans can expect another “emotionally captivating” season, even though the story is still unknown. He said, “We can’t wait to show Sullivan’s Crossing to our viewers this fall.
We’re so sure that people will love it that we’ve already signed up for a second season.” As partners for season two, we can’t wait to work with this talented group and excellent creative team to make another emotionally gripping season. People can really get into this show because they know it will be back for much, much more.”
Who Will Be in Season 2 of Sullivan’s Crossing?
The cast for season two hasn’t been confirmed by CTV and The CW yet, but we expect Morgan Kohan, Scott Patterson, and Chad Michael Murray to be back in their leading parts.
Most of the first season’s cast is also likely to come back, including Tom Jackson, Andrea Menard, Lindura, Lynda Boyd, Amalia Williamson, Reid Price, Allan Hawco, and Peter Outerbridge.
Is Season 2 of Sullivan’s Crossing Already Being Filmed?
There haven’t been any updates on the production, but it may be on hold right now because of the writer’s strike, based on how involved Canada is. Fans will probably get word from CTV and The CW when the strike is over.
