Stars of “Black Panther” Want to Pay Tribute to Chadwick Boseman With a Sequel

Ever though director and co-writer Ryan Coogler was already deep into working on a new tale, the makers of “Black Panther” were hesitant if a sequel should even be developed after the death of star Chadwick Boseman in August of the year 2020.
It was the astonishment that transformed into, ‘oh, you know what?’ when Boseman’s death occurred. What do we do? What action should we take? Should we try to do something?'” During a virtual news conference held in advance of the premiere of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” on November 10 in the Middle East, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made the following statement. “And I think quite shortly it was realised that this magnificent array of characters and this universe that had been built on screen deserved to continue,” the speaker said.

Audiences are reentering the land of Wakanda once again with the release of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” but this time without Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danai Gurira are some of the returning cast members. Newcomer Tenoch Huerta, who plays the villainous Namor, is also part of the cast.

According to Coogler, the central idea behind the second instalment is that “when you lose somebody, there’s like an explosion radius.” “It’s just like a bomb going off, and the people who were the closest to it are the ones who we investigated” (in the movie). And the primary characters’ identities were in some ways intertwined with that of this individual.

Gurira, who plays General Okoye in the movie, said that the purpose of respecting him and the way he valued excellency was the primary thing that kept her grounded throughout the process. He delighted in our success and enjoyed watching us go about our business. Then we’d approach him with our concerns and ask, “What do you think about this?” In addition to that, he never failed to provide us with a lot of motivation to achieve our goals. And he possessed such exquisite taste. Therefore, I believe that was really an important component for me all the way through the process.”

Even Rihanna’s lead single for the film’s soundtrack, “Lift Me Up,” was written with Boseman in mind when she recorded it. “After she had played the record for us, she came right out and admitted, ‘I did it. “I did this for Chad,” stated Coogler after completing the action.

But Shuri, T’Challa’s younger sister, who is portrayed by Guyanese British actress Letitia Wright, is the story’s beating heart. Wright said, “It was just Ryan’s guidance on how do we create a full arc of this human being, of this young woman going through something alongside her fellow family members in general and Wakandans?” Shuri is at the centre of the story because she is T’Challa’s younger sister.
