Selma Blair quits "Dancing With the Stars," citing MS-related health issues.

After citing health issues as her reason for leaving “Dancing With the Stars,” actor Selma Blair performed one final beautiful waltz on the ballroom dance floor Monday evening before announcing her departure from the competition show.

The actress broke down in tears as she broke the news that she would no longer be participating in the competition on Monday’s show. In 2018, she disclosed that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a disease that affects the central nervous system.

Throughout the entire procedure, my doctors have been keeping in touch with me and monitoring me. I went in for these MRIs, and when the findings came in, it all added up to the same thing: I just can’t… “I’m sorry, but I can’t continue with the competition,” she said to her partner Sasha Farber in a pre-recorded tape that was played during a rehearsal.

She informed him that she had “pushed as far as I could.”

When she was talking to the camera and trying to explain the circumstances, she had to fight back tears.

My body is very certainly suffering from the effects of my chronic illness, which brings with it a set of unique challenges. She remarked that the amount was much over what was healthy for her bones.

She went on to say, “There’s really enormous bone stress and inflammation, in addition to rips and tears, and so I may inflict extensive damage that, of course, I do not want.”
