Riverdale Season 7 Previous Episodes Recap

In the latest episode of Riverdale, the town went back in time to the 1950s with a classic sock hop, but the drama wasn’t far behind.

Jughead discovers that Pep Comics stole a story he submitted, and he goes to their office to complain. The editor dismisses his claim and points to a filing cabinet filled with half-formed ideas.

Jughead volunteers for an audition and enlists Ethel to illustrate the book.

Meanwhile, Cheryl announces that Kevin’s band will perform at the school sock hop. Toni suggests that Fangs and his rock band should also perform, which leads to some flirting between Toni and Cheryl. Archie needs some dance lessons before Veronica agrees to go to the sock hop with him, so he turns to Betty for help.

The two dance and share some sparks, which is lacking in Betty’s relationship with Kevin. Kevin squirms away when Betty tries to kiss him, labelling her a “sex maniac.” However, when Kevin meets a new student named Clay, the two share a passion for music and some sparks.

Veronica wants Archie to clear a few more hurdles before agreeing to the sock hop, so she invites him over for some stimulating conversation.

Archie dresses up in his father’s old jacket and even writes Ronnie a poem. However, Veronica invites other guys to compete for her attention, and Archie decides to leave early. Betty tells her mother that she feels neglected by Kevin and has “stirrings” for Archie. Her mother gives Kevin an old pin to give to Betty.

Cheryl confronts Toni at the Serpents’ coffeehouse hangout, and the two become acquainted. Fangs’ band replaces Kevin’s at the dance, and Toni and Cheryl work together to sell tickets.

Ethel gets suspended after the school psychiatrist sees her comic book paintings, but she sneaks out with Jughead to meet the comic book editor. However, her parents ground her on the night of the sock hop.

At the dance, nearly everyone is staring wistfully at someone who is not their dance partner when Ethel bursts in drenched in blood and informs Jughead, “Something terrible has happened.”
