Outlander is a historical drama television series based on Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander novel series. The show, created by Ronald D. Moore, aired on Starz on August 9, 2014. Caitrona Balfe plays Claire Randall, a former Second World War military nurse in Scotland who is sent back in time to 1743 in 1945. There she meets, falls in love with, and marries Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a tacksman from Gabaldon’s romanticized Clan Fraser of Lovat. Claire gets drawn into the Jacobite uprising at this location.
The show premiered in August 2014 and has now broadcast six successful seasons, each adapting a different volume of the book series. Outlander: Blood of My Blood, a prequel series centered on Jamie Fraser’s parents, Brian and Ellen Fraser, was also formally announced for a ten-episode first season in 2022. Outlander Season 7 Release date
The new season of Outlander is moving forward. The series will return on June 16 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on Starz and all of Starz’s streaming platforms. Outlander will now broadcast on Fridays for the first time in its history, having been a Sunday staple since its third season. However, if you cannot wait until 9 p.m., the episodes will begin streaming on the Starz app and Starz streaming add-ons on Fridays at midnight Pacific Time.
The remainder of Gabaldon’s sixth book and a substantial portion of her seventh will be covered in the upcoming season. The remainder of A Breath of Snow and Ashes features the reappearance of Outlander’s time-traveler Wendigo Donner, as well as the devastating fire that brought Brianna back to the past in the first place.

Claire will presumably stand trial for the murder of Malva, and Tom Christie’s enigmatic protection of her will be further explained. Interestingly, Jamie’s son, William Ransom, now 19 years old, and Earl of Ellesmere, will play a significant role in the plot of Outlander season 7, and Lord John, Fergus, and Marsali will also play larger roles in the upcoming season. Finally, the American Revolutionary War commences on Outlander, adding to the drama and excitement.
How Many Episodes Will There Be in Outlander Season 7?
Outlander season six was trimmed from 12 episodes to eight due to pandemic-related production concerns, making it the shortest season ever. That is unfortunate news. The good news is that those four episodes have been carried over to season seven, which will be a whopping 16(!) episodes long, as previously stated.
