Otto Frederick Warmbier was an American college student who was born on December 12, 1994. He became well-known after he was jailed in North Korea in 2016. Warmbier went to North Korea as part of a group tour in December 2015. But on January 2, 2016, as he was getting ready to leave the country, he was arrested at Pyongyang International Airport.
Warmbier’s health situation wasn’t made public until June 2017, when it was said that botulism and a sleeping pill had put him into a coma.
