On Christmas Day, TikTok Stars Take Over BBC Radio 1

On Christmas Day, some of the most popular personalities from the video-sharing platform TikTok will host BBC Radio 1 for the first time ever.

Next week, on Sunday, December 25, from 14:00 until 18:00, 11 stars from the app will be revealed. These stars are from a variety of fields, including music, comedy, entertainment, and finance.

One of the TikTokers, Fats Timbo, who is 25 years old, stated that she was proud to “represent the concerns of people with disabilities through radio.” She went on to say that when she was younger, she could only dream about doing something like this.

Other people who will take part include Maddie Grace Jepson, Kieron Hamilton, Madeleine Argy, and Max Foch. George and Joe Baggs will also be there.

The head of Radio 1, Aled Haydn Jones, made the following remark in a press release: “I am very delighted that this year we can also create room for fresh and emerging talent on social media. I know that our young audience would like to hear a different side of their online heroes.”

The top ten songs that have been the most popular on TikTok in the UK this year were revealed the week before last. Three of the songs, “Sunroof” by Niki Yura, “Jiggle Jiggle” by Louis Theroux, and “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush, made the list.

In addition, the British performers who garnered the most views in 2022 were identified. The victory went to the London rapper Stepz, while Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran finished in second and third place, respectively.

Dolly Parton is now an official member of the TikTok platform, which is some more news related to TikTok. There are currently 370,000 people following the country music icon on the app, and the singer welcomed new users to her account by uploading six videos to share with them.

“I’ve arrived!” She added the caption “Hi TikTok!” to her very first video, which was the accompaniment to her smash hit song “9 to 5.” Dolly is her name.
