The Polar Express is an animated fantasy adventure movie from 2004. It is based on the same-named 1985 children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg. The movie is about a young boy who, on Christmas Eve, stops a strange train to the North Pole outside his window and is invited to ride on it by the train’s conductor. The boy goes with a group of other children to see Santa Claus and get ready for Christmas.

The movie has both live-action and motion-capture CGI animation of human characters. Tom Hanks, Jimmy Bennett, Eddie Deezen, Daryl Sabara, and Nona Gaye are among the actors in the movie. You can watch it on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

3. Slumberland

On our list of movies like Violent Night is also the 2022 fantasy adventure film Slumberland. Based on Winsor McCay’s comic strip Little Nemo in Slumberland, the movie is about a young girl whose father goes missing at sea and who moves in with her uncle. In her dreams, she goes to Slumberland and makes friends with a rebel who is planning to get to the Sea of Nightmares and get a special pearl. The pearl might be able to bring her father back to her. Jason Momoa, Marlow Barkley, Chris O’Dowd, Kyle Chandler, and Weruche Opia are all in the movie Slumberland. You can watch it on Netflix.

4. A Boy Called Christmas

You shouldn’t miss the British movie A Boy Called Christmas, which will come out in 2021. Based on Matt Haig’s book with the same name, the movie is about a young boy named Nikolas. “Determined young Nikolas meets his destiny in a magical land inhabited by elves on a quest to find his father and bring the gift of hope back home,” says the summary. A Boy Named Christmas is available on Netflix.

5. Last Christmas

Paul Feig is in charge of Last Christmas, a romantic comedy coming out in 2019. The script for the movie was written by Bryony Kimmings, Emma Thompson, and her husband, Greg Wise.

The name of the movie comes from a song from 1984 with the same name. The music of George Michael and Wham! It’s about a disillusioned worker at a Christmas store who meets a mysterious man and starts falling in love with him. Emma Clarke and Henry Golding are the stars, and so are Emma Thompson and Michelle Yeoh. You can watch it on Netflix or Prime Video.
