Miss Argentina and Miss Puerto Rico Have Announced Their Engagement.

LGBTQ groups around Latin America, a region that has historically trailed behind on gay rights but has made tiny gains toward equality in recent years, celebrated the joint Instagram post after it sparked celebrations in their communities.

After deciding to keep our relationship private, we’re opening the doors on this special day, 28/10/22,” Valentn and Valera stated in their announcement that was released online on Sunday. “We’re opening the doors on this special day, 28/10/22.”

The post has a video montage of them together during their relationship, such as when they were on vacation, out at a bar, or watching the sunset on the beach. A view of the couple together after the proposal is followed by a view of gold and silver balloons with the words “Marry me?” written on them.

At the end of the video, Valentin and Valera are seen making out in front of the courtroom in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Both of them are clothed in white.

After being declared unlawful by the Supreme Court of the United States in 2015, the practise of same-sex marriage in Puerto Rico was finally given the green light the following year. In the year 2020, the island adopted new laws that extended existing safeguards for members of the LGBTQ community.

The two ladies became acquainted while competing in the Miss Grand International pageant in Thailand in 2020. Both were representing their respective nations at the event. Since then, the two of them have continued to publish updates to social media together.

The couple’s news of their engagement was received with an outpouring of joyous congratulations on social media, to which they enthusiastically responded.

“I want to express my gratitude for all the affection! We are filled with excitement and happiness, “admonished Valera. “I am sending all of you the love that you are providing to us back to you.”
