MI vs RCB, IPL 2023: Vintage Suryakumar Yadav Helps Mumbai Indians Beat Royal Challengers Bangalore By 6 Wickets

Suryakumar Yadav’s amazing 83 runs in 35 balls and Nehal Wadhera’s unbeaten 52 runs helped Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets on Tuesday in the Indian Premier League.

After Mumbai put them into bat, Faf du Plessis (65 runs in 41 balls) and Glenn Maxwell (68 runs in 33 balls) put Royal Challengers Bangalore at 199 for five. This was their fourth-century stand of the season.

Chasing 200, Mumbai Indians kept up their perfect record of not losing to RCB at the Wankhede Stadium since IPL 2015. They won the game quickly, in 16.3 overs, and kept their perfect record. The win put Mumbai Indians in third place in the table of points. The five-time winners now have 12 points after 11 games.

With 10 points from 11 games, RCB fell to seventh place.

Suryakumar did a great job by hitting six sixes and seven fours. He and Wadhera added 140 runs for the third wicket in only 66 balls. Wadhera was moved up to No. 4 after being dropped on 16 by Wanindu Hasaranga (2/53) on a hard return chance. He went on to make his second fifty of the season. The left-handed hitter hit four fours and three sixes, and after 34 balls, he was still not out at 52.

After their bowlers started a sort of comeback in the first half of the game, the Mumbai Indians never looked like they were under any pressure, even though Rohit Sharma’s average run kept going.

Sharma, the leader of the Mumbai Indians, was out for only seven runs when he was caught out. However, Ishan Kishan’s quick start (42) and a strong stand for the third wicket ended the game for RCB.

At one point, RCB was on its way to a big score, but MI fought back to slow them down. The fact that the guests didn’t add even 200 runs hurt them in the end.

Hasaranga hit twice in the fifth over to stop Mumbai’s charge. Ishan Kishan was caught behind for 42 runs in 21 balls, and Rohit Sharma was out for 7 runs. This put MI at 62/2 at the end of the powerplay.

Kishan hit four sixes and as many fours, which was a big part of his 51-run opening partnership with Sharma, who was out for his fifth straight score of less than 10.

Suryakumar got to his fourth fifty of the season, and his third at the Wankhede, with only 26 balls.

RCB was rocked early on when Jason Behrendorff (4-0-36-3) struck twice in the powerplay. However, du Plessis (65 off 41 balls) and Maxwell (68 off 33 balls) worked together to show MI’s bowling problems once again while taking advantage of the perfect conditions for batting.

This gave the RCB a boost after the early losses of Virat Kohli (1) and Anuj Rawat (6). Maxwell was in his groove as he played some great shots. He hit four sixes and eight fours on his way to his fourth fifty of the season.

On the other hand, du Plessis, who was dropped by Nehal Wadhera in the first over when he hadn’t scored yet, was just as amazing with his strokeplay. He attacked both fast and slow bowlers to reach his sixth half-century.

Du Plessis also increased his lead at the top of the list of players with the most runs this year. He has 576 runs in 11 games, which is an average of 64 runs per game.

But to their credit, MI came back in the second half and quickly got rid of Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror (one run), and du Plessis. This stopped RCB’s charge because they couldn’t go over 200 runs, which at one point seemed likely.

The bowlers for Mumbai Indians did well to only give up 68 runs in the last seven overs. This was a much better showing with the ball.

RCB went from having 131/2 runs after 13 overs to having 146/5 runs after 15 overs. Dinesh Karthik did well to get 30 runs off 18 balls to get rid of his average run with the bat.
