Make-Up Artist Laney Chantal Dies of Drug Overdose

Her family has stated that they believe Chantal passed away as a result of an accidental drug overdose. It was rumoured that she had been dealing with challenges related to her mental health during the past few years, specifically that she was battling bipolar disorder and drug addiction.

She had begun a GoFundMe campaign back in 2015 with the intention of raising funds to pay for her membership in a sober living community. She had explained at the time that she felt the need for further support by saying things like, “I know that my life has gotten unmanageable and even with the help of my out patient rehab, I still feel like I need extra support.” However, she was only able to raise $1,661 out of the desired amount of $4,000.

The family of the make-up artist has decided to honour her memory by holding a charity event in her honour. All of the money raised will be donated to The Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, which is a charitable organisation that supports research into mental health.

Friends and Colleagues Mourn Laney’s Death

Gabriella Accarino, another artist who worked alongside Laney, penned a touching eulogy for her colleague and friend and said, “Laney was more than a close friend. She was my sister and my soulmate all rolled into one. She had a great spirit that was sincere, sensitive, talented, and talented. We were able to have a conversation while never actually speaking to one another. It was the deepest connection I had ever experienced with another person.

The world is a better place thanks to Laney’s contributions to art and her spirit, which are both irreplaceable. The last thing I remember doing with her was going four-wheeling in Michigan until the sun went down. You were a wonderful person who was loved by a large number of people and you deserved the best. You have irrevocably altered the course of my life and instructed me in the meaning of unconditional love,” she continued.

Jeordie, who is no longer married to Laney, also shared his anguish in a letter and said, “There are no words to explain the agony I’m suffering and far too many to convey the joy that you’ve brought into a gloomy world.” I am saddened by your unexpected passing; nevertheless, if sorrow is the price we must pay for the love and happiness that we once enjoyed, then I am willing to endure this suffering.
