Recap of the First Season of Jujutsu
Yuji Itadori is a high school student in Sendai who is way too fit for his age. On his deathbed, Yuji’s grandfather tells him two important things: “Always help others” and “Die with people around you.” When Yuji’s friends in the Occult Club opened a rotten finger talisman to protect Megumi Fushiguro and their friends, he became a host for a powerful Curse named Ryomen Sukuna.
This brought Curses to their school. Because Sukuna is evil, all sorcerers have to get rid of him (and, by extension, Yuji) right away. But when Megumi’s teacher Satoru Gojo saw that Yuji was still in control of his body, he brought him to the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School and made a proposal to his bosses: postpone Yuji’s death sentence and let him train with Satoru until he ate all of Sukuna’s fingers and got rid of the Curse.
At the same time, a group of cursed spirits, led by the cursed spirit Mahito and a corrupted sorcerer named Suguru Geto, who was killed by Satoru a year ago, plan an attack on the world of jujutsu sorcery.

Should I Watch the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie Before the Second Season?
The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie is a prequel to the main series, so we’d recommend it, but it’s not necessary. The movie is mostly about the swordsman Yuta Okkotsu, who will become more important as the Jujutsu Kaisen anime goes on. He’s also one of the most popular characters in the manga series, so you should go see what all the fuss is about.
There is also a scene after the credits that sets up what will happen in the next episode. It’s about Yuta going back to Japan and joining the main series. It’s not clear yet if he’ll be in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, though.
