Jonathan Edward Bernthal was born in Washington, D.C., in the United States, on September 20, 1976. Joan and Eric Bernthal, who are Jewish, brought him up in a Jewish home. Before he retired in 2019, his dad was an attorney and the head of the Humane Society’s board of directors.
