Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India on Wednesday said it has introduced a new variant of the Range Rover Velar with showroom prices starting at Rs 79.87 lakh.
The new Velar R-Dynamic S trim is available with two-liter petrol and diesel powertrains. The new model comes with new features like air suspension, 3D surround camera and cabin air with PM 2.5 filter, the company said in a statement.
The Land Rover range in India includes Range Rover Evoque (starting at Rs 59.04 lakh), Discovery Sport (starting at Rs 65.30 lakh), Defender 110 (starting at Rs 83.38 lakh), Range Rover Sport (starting at Rs 91.27 lakh), according to the statement. and Range Rover (starting at Rs 2.10 crore). JLR sells its cars from 24 dealerships across the country.
JLR preparing prototype of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle
Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) on Tuesday said it is prototyping a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle based on the new platform of its new premium SUV, the Land Rover Defender. The ‘New Defender FCEV’ concept is part of JLR’s goal of achieving zero tail-pipe emissions by 2036 and zero carbon emissions across its supply chain, products and businesses by 2039, the company said in a statement. This is in line with the company’s ‘reimagine’ strategy announced last month.
The prototype is being developed under the company’s advanced engineering project – Project Zeus. In this, it is working closely with several units doing research and development. Project Zeus is partly financed by the UK Government-supported Advanced Propulsion Centre.
