Is Suits Coming Back for Season 10? Latest Updates and Possibilities

is suits coming back for season 10

Even though there was never a Suits season 10, the popular legal comedy has seen a rebound since ending its nine-year run in 2019. The franchise and possibly even some of its characters still have a future.

After its 2011 premiere, Suits attracted a devoted following, with many viewers continuing to watch the show in spite of numerous character changes.

Harvey (Gabriel Macht), Donna (Sarah Rafferty), and Louis (Rick Hoffman) were the only original cast members left after fan favorites Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Rachel (Meghan Markle) left the New York-based firm.

But Suits cast members like Samantha (Katherine Heigl), Katrina (Amanda Schull), and Alex (Dulé Hill) gave the show the backing it needed to run until the end. “One Last Con,” the season finale that concluded Suits, crammed two weddings and a child’s birth into its allotted time.

Louis and Sheila married, Harvey and Donna married, and the latter pair soon had a daughter. Suits has gained popularity on streaming services since its conclusion, which has sparked speculation about a potential Suits season 10.

With Season 9, Suits Came to an End

Suits season 9 had ten episodes, fewer than previous seasons, when USA Network revived it as its last run. Because of this, creator Aaron Korsh and the writers had to finish all the unresolved narrative points faster than they usually did, but they succeeded.

After arguing with Faye Richardson (Denise Crosby) for the entire season, Harvey, Louis, and the rest of their allies were able to expel her from the company. Mike was also present to assist his former coworkers in defeating their common enemy.

Louis and Sheila’s wedding marked the happy ending of the Suits series finale, but in a surprising twist of events, Donna and Harvey also got married, and it was revealed that they were leaving the New York business to join Mike and Rachel in their Seattle firm.

That basically means that when Harvey moves to the West Coast, the legal office would need to alter its name one more time to reflect the surviving attorneys. No Suits season 10 was the definitive end of the Suits saga, since Harvey and Mike had left.

Why Season 9 of Suits Was the Last Season?

Due to the show’s obligations, Suits season 10 was not produced. The idea that the show would go on without Patrick J. Adams as Mike seemed unreal. Although he returned in a recurrent role in season 9, he left after the seventh season. In the early seasons of the show, Mike was the major attraction, practicing without a license.

Suits, however, went on to other legal-based themes when his narrative concluded. The show was able to go on without Mike because to the presence of other characters. Aaron Korsh, the creator of the series, claims that Adams quit because the cast’s contracts expired after the seventh season (via Deadline).

We had to decide whether to continue after season 7 since you never know when one of your stars would wed the Prince of England and Patrick chose not to come back. We agreed that a 16-episode season 8 and a 10-episode season 9 were the initial plans; let’s see if that works out.”

The addition of Katherine Heigl as a new character gave the showrunners a solid option to wrap up the series and ensure that it would run for nine seasons. However, Suits season 10 was never considered because there was never a plan to continue with more than nine seasons.

In order to create a significant summer conclusion for the series, Korsh also acknowledged that they wanted 10 episodes for the final season.

Suits Season 10 Is Not Happening

It’s astonishing, to be honest, that Suits survived for two more seasons after Torres, Adams, and Meghan Markle left in season 7. Whether the choice was the right one is still up for debate. The strong connection between its major actors, especially Mike and Harvey, was the suit’s biggest selling point.

Fortunately, Adams returned to the role a few more times before the program ended, allowing it to recreate some of that chemistry.

The notion that Mike and Harvey were reuniting, this time for the greater good as they mostly work on class-action lawsuits, was a crowd-pleasing way to wrap up the program, even though it officially ended and there was no Suits season 10.
