Who is James Mcavoy Married to?
In a new interview with The Guardian, 42-year-old actor James McAvoy said that he and Lisa Liberati got married in a secret ceremony. In 2016, McAvoy and Liberati met on the set of the horror movie Split, where Liberati worked as M. Night Shyamalan’s personal helper.
A few years later, they started dating, and now McAvoy has revealed that they just got married. The couple kept their marriage a secret, and McAvoy wouldn’t say anything else because he didn’t want to give the tabloids more to write about.
Both McAvoy and Liberati loved Philadelphia, where Split was shot, and where Liberati grew up. This brought them closer together. McAvoy has said that Philadelphia is his other home.
Before he married Liberati, McAvoy was married to Anne-Marie Duff from 2006 to 2016, and they have a son named Brendan who is now 11 years old. McAvoy and Duff worked together on the British TV show Shameless, where Duff played the love interest of McAvoy’s character.
McAvoy is known for being private, and in a 2017 interview with Mr. Porter, he said that he wanted to keep his personal life private. Liberati and McAvoy haven’t been seen in public together very often.
The last time they were seen in public was in 2019 when McAvoy posted a photo of them wearing colorful wigs and matched hoodies for Halloween.
