Chandigarh, [wpdts-date-time], As a trial project, the country’s first ‘Grain ATM’ has been established in Gurugram. This machine is capable of dispensing up to 70 kg of grain in five to seven minutes. Dushyant Chautala, Haryana’s Deputy Chief Minister, provided this information on Wednesday.
He stated that consumers will no longer have to queue in front of government ration depots in order to obtain food grains since the Haryana government will equip consumers with ‘Grain ATMs.’
According to Chautala, the country’s first ‘Grain ATM’ was launched as a trial project in Haryana’s Gurugram region. Chautala is also in charge of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies.
He stated that the creation of ‘Grain ATMs’ would resolve any problems regarding the timely and precise measuring of ration quantity.
“The purpose of installing this machine is to ensure that the correct quantity reaches the correct beneficiary with the least amount of bother possible,” he stated in an official statement released here.
Chautala stated that this will assist customers while also resolving the issue of food grain shortages at government depots and increasing transparency in the public food distribution system.
The ‘Grain ATM’ is an automated machine that operates similarly to a bank ATM, according to the announcement.
“This system dubbed an automatic, multi-commodity grain distribution machine,” will be deployed under the United Nations’ World Food Program.
