How To Pair Firestick Remote

You can use an Amazon firestick to convert your regular LED TV into a smart TV which can connect to the internet and run android apps. But you won’t be able to use your firestick device without a remote.

Usually, the firestick remote comes paired with the Amazon firestick device, and you’re able to plug and play without any hassle.

However, there are occasions where your firestick remote might lose its connection with the device, and you’ll have to pair the remote with your device again to continue controlling the Amazon firestick device connected to your TV. Or sometimes you have to reset your firestick remote because some keys are not functioning properly.

In this article, we will provide you with several methods you can use to pair a firestick remote with the device. Keep reading to find valuable tips.

Pairing A Remote With Your Amazon Firestick

Usually, pairing the firestick remote with your Amazon firestick device should only take a minute or two.

To start the pairing process, you just have to press the “Home” button on your fire TV remote for upto 10 seconds. Once you do this, the small light on top of your remote will start blinking. This indicates the start of the pairing process.

The remote will now look for any nearby Amazon firestick, and will try to pair with it.

After the pairing process is done, the light on your remote will blink in blue color for 3 times, and this means that the pairing has completed.

But pairing the remote isn’t this simple for many people. So, if the above mentioned step didn’t work for you, you should try resetting your remote before attempting to pair it again.

Resetting An Amazon Firestick Remote

Just like the standard pairing procedure we explained above, resetting a firestick remote is easy as well.

To reset the remote, you’ll have to turn off and unplug your Amazon fire TV stick for about a minute. Now keep the menu, back, and left buttons on your remote pressed for about 12-15 seconds. After this, remove batteries from your remote, power up the firestick and insert the batteries back in the remote after waiting for about a minute.

Tip: If you can’t see “left” written on any button of your firestick remote, just press the left side of the ring-shaped button on it.

After going through all these steps carefully, stand about 2-3 meters away from your firestick device, and push the “Home” button and wait for a few seconds to allow the remote to connect to the device (just like we explained in the first step).

But if you’ve bought a replacement remote for your Amazon fire TV stick, you might have to go through some additional steps to link it with your device.

Pairing A Replacement Remote With Amazon Firestick

In order to pair a replacement remove, you’ll have to add it by going into the remotes section. You can find this section by going into settings, and then exploring the Bluetooth devices category.

After you click the “Add New Remote” option, click the “Home” button on your remote and wait for it to pair with the device (as we mentioned in the first step).

That was all you needed to know to pair a remote with your Amazon Firestick.
