Without a GPS position, a SIM card, or internet access, it is now possible to locate a missing smartphone. The IMEI number can be used to track down a lost or stolen phone. To do so, you must file a police report. In addition, an IMEI number can be used to disable a lost or stolen phone.
To do so, go to the Central Equipment Identity Register’s website (CEIR). You may find more information about this by clicking here. You can also visit https://ceir.gov.in/Home/index.jsp to get started. The CEIR website was created in collaboration with the Delhi Police, the Department of Telecom (DoT), and the Center for Development Telematics (CDOT).
All you have to do is enter the IMEI of your missing phone into the CEIR portal. There is no need to log in with your ID for this. You can ban the internet even if your phone is not connected to the internet.
How to Block IMEI Number?
The IMEI number of your lost phone number can be found on the phone bill or in the box. This is indicated with a sticker on the phone box. It also includes information such as the phone’s model and serial number. Above the bar code, you’ll see the 15-digit IMEI number.
After that, go to the CEIR portal and log in. If your phone is missing, you can block it here. To do so, go to CEIR Services and use the option to block the phone that has been lost. Following that, you will be asked for some basic information about the phone on the CEIR portal.
You must inform them of the phone’s loss in this section. You will also be required to provide details regarding your SIM card, bill, and police report at this time. After you’ve filled out the phone’s information, you’ll need to fill out the information for the phone’s owner. Following that, you must submit the request.
