How Old Was Sarah When Isaac Was Born? God Renamed Sarah and Abraham!
Sarah was ninety years old when God told Abraham she would bear a son and be blessed. Since she was ninety when God said this, she would have given birth to Isaac at either age ninety or ninety-one. The promise that God would give Abraham and Sarah a child when he was one hundred years old and she was ninety years old was difficult to believe for both Abraham and Sarah, who were well past their childbearing years.

Who is Sarah?
Sarah, also spelt Sarai, is Abraham’s wife and Isaac’s mother in the Old Testament. Sarah did not have children until she was 90 years old. Sarah did not believe in God’s promise that she would give birth to a son and become “the mother of nations” (Genesis 17:16).
Some authors say that Sarah was the daughter of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene. They get their ideas from the fake history book Holy Blood, Holy Grail.
Abraham Told Sarah She’d Have a Son, and Sarah Laughed
According to the Bible, Abraham pondered, “How could I become a father at the age of 100?” (Genesis 17:17). Sarah laughed when she overheard Abraham tell Sarah that she would have a son (Genesis 18:12). She found herself denying that she laughed when the Lord questioned Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh when she asked if an elderly woman like me could have a child?” At this time the following year, God assured Abraham that he and Sarah would welcome a son into the world. That’s what the Bible says (Genesis 18:14). Here’s what Sarah had to say: “It’s funny because Abraham was a hundred years old when Isaac was born. When people hear this, they’ll chuckle just as I do. Who would have anticipated that Sarah would be a mother? Nevertheless, I have given Abraham a son in his old age! (Genesis 21:5-7)
What Do We Learn From Sarah’s Story?
Sarah represents freedom and God’s favour because her son, and not the son of the slave woman Hagar, was the one who fulfilled God’s promise that was freely granted. The one that God protected.

How Old Was Sarah When Ishmael Was Born?
In Genesis 16, Abraham’s first wife, Sarai, also known as the Patriarch’s first wife, planned Ishmael’s birth. In order to fulfil the Abrahamic bond established in Genesis 15, Sarai and her husband Abram (Abraham) sought a method of procreation. Sarai was 75 years old and she has never been a mother.
Why Was Sarai Laughing Throughout the Story?
She chuckles not because she doubts God’s capacity to fulfil his word, but because of her situation. In reality, both she and Abraham are rather elderly. Why did it take so long for God to fulfil the promise?
