Heidi Klum Confirms Daughter Leni Will Attend College Rather Than Pursue a Modeling Career
Heidi Klum is going to witness the departure of one of her children from the nest (or even catwalk out of it).
The model, who is now 49 years old, recently revealed to Entertainment Tonight that her eldest child, Leni Olumi, who is now 18 years old and is the product of her first marriage to Flavio Briatore, is preparing to pack up and move to New York to continue her studies. “I am [very proud]. One of the judges on America’s Got Talent commented that “you know, she has her head screwed on straight.”
“Right now, college is at the top of the list,” Klum said, adding, “It’s not modelling, and she’s really enthusiastic about that next chapter in her life.” Although Klum did not go into too many details, she did reveal that for the 18-year-old, “Right now, college is at the top of the list.”
Because it appeared at first that Leni was going to follow in her mother’s footsteps, this information might come as a surprise to some people.
On Instagram, the young woman, who is only 18 years old, already has more than 1.5 million followers, and her bio reveals that she is an ambassador for both Dior and GHD (Good Hair Day). She has also appeared on the cover of magazines such as Hunger, a photo of which she posted to Instagram at the beginning of the previous month.
Back in the year 2020, Leni even showed her mother the cover of German Vogue that she had shared with her, and she expressed her delight on Instagram about the achievement. She wrote that she was “So happy for my first cover!! ” “I couldn’t have asked for a better beginning to my time on set with @voguegermany. I had so much fun!” I want to express my gratitude to you, @heidiklum, for being by my side.
Indeed, a really impressive beginning. Since that time, the young woman has been featured on the front cover of a number of other prominent international publications, including the Russian edition of Elle and the German edition of Harper’s Bazaar, amongst others.
Klum admitted to Entertainment Tonight that it will be very difficult for her to watch her eldest child leave home. “Unfortunately, she will be relocating,” Klum shared her sadness over her friend. Which is clearly disappointing, but at the same time, she has enough going for her to be successful. She has decided to relocate to New York. Due to the fact that we filmed Project Runway in New York for such a long period of time, she is very familiar with the city and all of its nooks and crannies.
