George Clooney: ‘er’ Changed My Career, We’re Still ‘really Good Friends’

The cast members that George Clooney worked with on “ER” are still his closest pals.

The actor played the role of Dr. Doug Ross on the popular television series from its beginning in 1994 until its conclusion in 2009.

When Drew Barrymore brings up the show in a sneak peek clip from Friday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” George Clooney gushes about its success, saying, “I guess it was the friendship I have with all of them and that I continue to have.” Clooney’s comments will air on Friday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

“I had [Anthony] Tony Edwards at the house in Italy three weeks ago — he and Mare [Winningham, his wife] came,” he said, adding that he is also still “really close” with co-stars Julianna Margulies and Noah Wyle. “I had Tony Edwards at the house in Italy three weeks ago — he and Mare [Winningham, his wife] came.”

In the video footage, Clooney can be heard saying to Barrymore, “They’re really good buddies.” “Therefore, I consider working on that show to be an opportunity of a lifetime. And it completely altered the course of my professional life.”

Julia Roberts and George Clooney have been working hard to promote their new romantic comedy, “Ticket to Paradise,” in which they star together.
