Emily O’Hara Ratajkowski was born on 7 June 1991 in Westminster, London, UK. Her parents are Kathleen Balgley and John David “J. D.” Ratajkowski, and she has no siblings.
Her mother, Kathleen, got her doctorate from UC San Diego. After that, she started teaching English at UC Los Angeles as a lecturer. Emily claims that her mother is an outspoken feminist and a very smart lady.

In addition to her travels, Kathleen also taught American literature in Poland from 1987 to 1989. Because she was a participant in the Fullbright programme, she also had the opportunity to instruct students in other countries. She also attends the Jewish academy at California Polytechnic University, San Diego.
Kathleen and Emily’s father, John Ratajkowski, were both teachers at San Diego Academy in Encinitas, California. John, Emily’s father, was a skilled painter and art teacher. While Kathleen was 39 and John was 45 when they had Emily, the baby was born in the middle.
When Emily was born, her parents were still dating but decided to raise her as a single parent. While her childhood was spent primarily in Encinitas, Emily has also called Bloomsbury and West Kensington home. Soon after, at the tender age of five, she and her family relocated to San Diego, California.

Early Career of Emily Ratajkowski
Emily’s interest in the theatre began long before she and her family left London when she was five. Indeed, she began performing at a very young age.
She used to put on shows for her friends and family at all kinds of gatherings. In the North Coast Repertory Theater School, she made her acting debut as Elsa in The Little Match Girl.

Emily portrayed Harriet in the 2004 Lyceum Theatre production of Harriet Potter and the Throne of Applewort. Emily was extremely gifted in many areas apart from performing. She encouraged them both to pursue such fields. Soccer and ballet were only two of her many skills.
Her parents, both professors, took their artistically-inclined family on several adventures. When Emily was a child, her family made a trip to Europe, and while there, they stopped at a beach in N#de Beaches.
During this time period, Emily has first exposed to the work of female photographers and artists whose subject matter piqued her interest.
The experience ultimately pushed her toward a career in modeling. Photographers Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts are particularly revered by Emily for their contributions to this field.

Emily completed her high school education at San Dieguito Academy. In 2009, she attended UCLA to study fine arts in the School of Arts and Architecture.
After a year, she decided to leave the school since its curriculum was incompatible with her artistic beliefs. Not only did she have trouble making friends with the other students, but she also felt alone.
Personal Life
Emily’s relationship with actor/director Sebastian Bear-McClard began around this time. The first time the public saw them together was on Valentine’s Day in 2018. Sebastian has appeared in a number of films, some of which are Uncut Gems, Good Time, and Heaven Knows What.

They shared mutual acquaintances and eventually made their way to one another. Emily and Sebastian tied the knot at the beginning of 2018 in the New York City registry office.
The birth of their son, Sylvester Apollo Bear, took place on March 8, 2021. The news of their split came in July of 2022 after they had been together for nearly four years.
