Edge’s Return Will Set Up A Major Contender Match At WWE Extreme Rules.
At the forthcoming Extreme Rules premium live event, Edge has issued a challenge to Finn Balor for a “I Quit Match,” which will take place.
After Damian Priest was defeated by Matthew Riddle in the main event of the 9/26 episode of “WWE Raw,” the Judgment Day group launched a 4-on-1 assault on The Original Bro, and Priest eventually finished him off with a South of Heaven. When Edge’s music started playing at that very moment, the WWE Hall of Famer stormed down the ramp and into the ring to a rousing reception from the supporters of his home nation in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Edge wasted no time in dispatching Priest with a spear and then turned his attention to Dominik Mysterio, who had betrayed The Rated R-Superstar during the Clash at the Castle. Following Ripley’s successful attempt to remove Dominik from the ring, Edge delivered a spear to Balor.
After that, Edge grabbed the microphone to discuss Balor and Judgment Day’s involvement in Judgment Day’s injury to Edge’s leg earlier this month caused by a steel chair.
In a fiery advertisement, Edge is heard telling Judgment Day, “You have tried to finish me over and over again, but I always come back.” “I always end up back where I started, even if it takes me nine years! I never stop. In addition, I have a test for you, Finn. At Extreme Rules, an I Quit Match will take place between Edge and Finn Balor for the first first time ever.”
Previously, there was suspicion that Edge had been written off WWE TV following the attack by Judgment Day. This was mainly due to the restricted dates on his contract, but there was also some other factor involved. The rumours about Edge’s return increased stronger after WWE revealed a poster of Extreme Rules with Edge featured on it. Several reports stated that Edge could be kept off WWE television until Crown Jewel or Royal Rumble.
As the seasoned wrestler prepares to enter the final few years of his career, Edge has mentioned in the past that facing Balor would be one of his fantasy match-ups.
Edge even called out Balor as one of his potential opponents at WrestleMania 38 before his battle against AJ Styles, which took place on the Grandest Stage of them All. Edge has been involved in high-profile feuds with notable wrestlers such as Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, and The Miz ever since he made his comeback to the arena in 2019. It is anticipated that his conflict with Judgment Day would have its conclusion with the match he has scheduled against Balor.
