Dolly Parton, one of the most famous country singers and songwriters of all time, has been presented with a $100 million Courage and Civility award by Jeff Bezos, the creator of Amazon, and Lauren Sanchez, his partner. Sanchez stated on Friday, when announcing the award, that the recipient is free to donate the money to any charitable organisations that they see appropriate.

“It is important to lend a helping hand whenever it is possible to do so. And I know that I’ve always said, “I try to put my money where my heart is,” and I think that you do the same thing, so I’m going to assume that you do the same thing too “When Parton was accepting the grant from Bezos, she stated.

Through her Twitter account, Parton expressed her intention to “try my best to do good things with this money.”

The music legend, who is now 76 years old, has a longstanding reputation for being a generous donor. According to the website for the charity, the Bollywood Foundation was established in 1988 with the goal of increasing the number of high school graduates in her native area. According to the organization’s website, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library was established in 1995 as a book gifting programme. The programme sends free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, regardless of the financial situation of their families.

In the year 2020, Dolly Parton made a contribution of one million dollars to the Medical Center at Vanderbilt University in order to assist her friend, Dr. Naji Abumrad, in the development of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. After that, Parton went on to obtain her shot from Abumrad himself in a video, during which she also encouraged other people to be vaccinated.

In 2016, Dolly Parton was the host of the live telethon “Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefits for the My People Fund.” The purpose of the telethon was to raise money for those whose homes had been destroyed by wildfires in the Great Smoky Mountains.
