The preservation of the oceans and its inhabitants is greatly aided by marine activists. In the Netflix series Under Paris, Lea Leviant portrays Mika. Mika, a marine activist who started the group “Save Our Seas,” is the one who initially informs Sophia that Lilith was seen in the Seine.
Although Mika is a young woman with good intentions, her bad decisions and actions made it impossible to enjoy the character.
What Caused Mika to Switch Off Lilith’s Tracker?
When Mika dove into the river late at night in an attempt to locate Lilith, the River Brigade apprehended her. She saw bite marks on the door of the automobile, which apparently slid into the river, but the driver was never located.
She initially refuses to go after being detained, but she phones Sophia to come to her rescue after Adewale is killed by a shark attack. Although Mika’s desire to assist Lilith is admirable and sincere, it does nothing to assist those who are genuinely attempting to deal with it.
Mika demanded that Ben switch off the tracker after Sophia and the River Brigade attempted to verify Lilith’s presence and two policemen dove into the water to make sure. The divers had a serious scare as a result, but Mika pays little attention to it.
In fact, Mika believes that Lilith will be killed by the police, not the other way around. Before she flees, Sophia spots her snooping about the place like a crazy adolescent.
What Action Does Mika Take When Sophia Confronts Her?
Sophia attempted to explain to Mika that Lilith is a maneater and a very dangerous shark rather than your typical shark. Sophia wasn’t mistaken because she had seen Lilith’s actions firsthand. She is treated harshly by Mika, who claims that she is simply another shark lost in the Seine and that it is her duty to return her to the ocean.
Mika believes that her team should never have gone to sea in the first place and holds Sophia accountable for their deaths. This demonstrates Mika’s lack of emotional intelligence and her scant or nonexistent empathy for others.
Although Mika genuinely wished to assist the sharks and whales, she lost interest in the people in the process. She acts the same way with Sophia as she does with Ben, her girlfriend, who is always there to support her despite all of her strange choices and other issues.
How Does Mika Share Lilith’s Story With the World?
Mika makes the decision to enlist assistance in her quest to save Lilith and uploads a video requesting it. In the video, she discusses how people slaughter millions of sharks year for personal gain and accuses previous generations of creating a hostile environment.
Mika makes valid arguments against animal abuse and exhorts us to put an end to shark cruelty. She goes on to discuss how crucial it is to lead Lilith back home after she gets lost in the Seine.
Although some individuals may find Mika’s comments and behavior to be “woke,” I don’t believe any of her arguments are unfounded or incorrect. Mika wanted the world to do the right thing, but it’s clear that a youngster made a bad decision, so you can’t hold her responsible.
After sharing the video, Mika was able to rally a large following, and to be honest, it’s a strong call to action for everyone to wake up and protect the environment.
How Does Mika Pass Away?
Ben is forced to reactivate the tracker on Lilith as Mika rallies the volunteers to assist her. In reality, Lilith was hiding in the Catacombs of Paris, a popular tourist attraction. Mika intended to use sonar to entice Lilith to her before directing her back to the ocean and out of the Seine.
Mika loses it when Ben, who is concerned about her, shares her plan with Sophia and the River Brigade. They then come to remove the gathering. Even when Sophia warned her to get out of the water, she believed that what she was doing was totally safe and that sharks don’t attack people.
Lilith arrives shortly after, and this time she has company. After Lilith gave birth to a baby shark, the two of them began to circle Mika. The silliest thing I’ve seen a character do on film in a long time was Mika’s attempt to pet the newborn shark.
Mika ignored Sophia even after she pointed out that they shouldn’t be here because it’s Lilith’s nest. Mika swims away from Adil when he leaps into the sea to pull her to safety. However, Lilith eventually consumes her while everyone looks on helplessly as her continual poor choices finally catch up with her.
Because of Lilith, the gathering quickly descended into a massacre, and her death was only the beginning. Ben, Mika’s lover, paid the price for loving her too, drowning in the river after being trampled underfoot by the rushing crowd as they attempted to escape.
One may argue that if Mika hadn’t gotten in the way of Sophia and the River Brigade’s first plan to capture Lilith with the assistance of experts, the fall of Paris would have been avoided.
