Did Alton Die in Snowfall or Survive the Chaos?

Did Alton Die in Snowfall

Franklin Saint, the main character of FX’s crime drama series “Snowfall,” rises from a marijuana dealer to the head of the 1980s drug trade in Los Angeles. After his father, Alton Saint, leaves his family and ends up living on the streets, Franklin takes charge of his own life.

Alton ends up returning to the family and his wife, Sharon “Cissy” Saint, after Franklin rises to prominence in the City of Angels. After the fourth season of the show, Alton abruptly leaves Franklin’s empire, leaving viewers to wonder what actually happened to him. Is he truly deceased? Let’s investigate! BEWARE OF SPOILERS.

Did Alton Pass Away in Snowfall?

Alton has passed away. Investigating Detective Andre Wright’s death in the fourth season, Irene Abe, a reporter for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, delves deeply into the murder’s relationship to the CIA and the Los Angeles drug scene.

Edgewood Shelter, a facility for the homeless and victims of the crack cocaine epidemic at the time, has been operated by Alton. Alton opposes the shelter when he finds out that his son Franklin is using the money he makes from selling cocaine, which the CIA has flooded into the city to wage a war against communism in Nicaragua.

He teams up with Irene to reveal the CIA’s ties to the LA drug scene via Theodore “Teddy” McDonald.

Alton discusses the CIA saturating the city with cocaine on air after Irene is slain. Alton, a former Black Panther, finds it intolerable that the government is murdering its own people in order to wage a war abroad.

He exposes Teddy’s alias, “Reed Thompson,” on air and threatens to divulge the true name of the CIA agent distributing cocaine to the dealers in Los Angeles if the Agency doesn’t stop destroying the lives of the people.

Teddy understands that if Alton keeps talking, his entire operation will finish too soon. In front of Franklin and Cissy, Alton and Teddy square off in the fourth season finale.

Cissy steps in to stop Teddy from pointing his gun at Alton. She suggests that Teddy and her husband move to Cuba so that Teddy won’t have to worry about Alton exposing him. Teddy permits Cissy and Alton to escape from the United States to Cuba, understanding that it would be foolish to murder Franklin’s parents in front of him.

After Alton seems to have “disappeared” for over a year, Cissy then goes back to Los Angeles. She considers the likelihood that Teddy killed her husband because she believes he broke his word. She doesn’t lose all faith that Alton will one day return to her alive because there isn’t any evidence to support that belief.

In order to recover the $73 million that Teddy stole from him, Franklin kidnaps Teddy in the eighth episode of the sixth season. Cissy informs the former CIA agent that Alton is still alive. He also tells her that in order to silence her husband, he took him to a prison in Puerto Rico.

Cissy thinks her husband is actually alive because there was no blood or dead body where Alton was last seen. Teddy, however, has been using Franklin’s mother as a means of escaping from him by lying to her about her husband’s incarceration in Puerto Rico.

Teddy believes that in exchange for her husband, Cissy will save him from her son.

Teddy tells Cissy the truth after making a deal with Franklin to regain his freedom. He informs Cissy that he shot and killed Alton because he knows she won’t be useful to him. After that, Cissy takes revenge on Teddy by killing him. Alton’s death is final, as Franklin and others have been thinking.
