China Hunan becomes another key point of COVID-19
Chinese battery giant Contemporary Ampere Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL) announced on Thursday its latest technological breakthrough in the first-generation sodium-ion battery, which may outperform the widely used lithium battery in terms of fast charging and low temperature performance.
In a low temperature environment of 20 ° C, the capacity retention rate of sodium ion batteries is over 90%. In addition, according to a document sent by CATL to the Global Times on Thursday, the battery can be charged to 80% of its capacity in 15 minutes at room temperature. The
auto industry analyst Zhang Xiang told the Global Times on Thursday that this speed is almost as short as the time it takes to fill the fuel tank of a gasoline car. Huang Qisen, vice dean of the Ningde Times Research Institute, said that the energy density of the Ningde
era sodium ion battery cell can reach 160 watt-hours per kilogram, which is currently the highest level. of the world.
Ningde Times President Zeng Yuqun revealed on Thursday that the energy density development target of the next generation of sodium ion batteries is more than 200 watt-hours per kilogram.
Ningde Times plans to form a basic industrial chain in 2023.
But Zhang said that sodium ion batteries are still in the laboratory stage and there are still many uncertainties. For example, the current energy density of batteries does not meet the standards of China’s new energy vehicle subsidy policy. In addition, the sodium ion battery can only be cycled at most 1500 times, which is less than the 6000 cycles provided by the lithium iron phosphate technology and the 3000 cycles of the lithium ternary battery, Zhang said.
“Sodium ion batteries have a much shorter lifespan. At the same time, the energy density of sodium ions is 2050% lower than lithium, because sodium is less volatile than lithium, which means that sodium is safer than lithium,” Zhang added.
Sodium is the sixth most common element on the earth and is rich in resources, which means that the cost of sodium-ion batteries will be lower than that of lithium-ion batteries.
analysts said that China is rich in lithium resources, but the quality is poor. At present, 80% of lithium in power batteries is imported, which is easy to restrict abroad, but sodium does not have this problem.
“In general, although the energy density is slightly lower than that of current lithium batteries, our first-generation sodium-ion batteries have outstanding advantages in low-temperature performance and charging speed, especially in high-power applications and application scenarios in alpine regions. ,” Huang said. The
sodium ion battery is compatible and complementary to the lithium ion battery. The rich technical route is also an important guarantee for the long-term development of the industry.
Although Nanjing in eastern China’s Jiangsu province was in a state of tension after the full mobilization of the fight against imported coronavirus cases during the “wartime”, the city with many world leaders in electronics companies was “basically” functioning normally.
A director of China Electronics Corporation, a state-owned enterprise with factories in the city’s economic and technological development zone, said that there was no material impact. The person told the Global Times on Thursday that all employees have undergone nucleic acid testing and vaccinations, and are now able to shift flexibly. He said that all
employees live in the factory and have little contact with the outside world, further reducing the risk of infection.
A manager of a foreign-funded electronics company told the Global Times that in general, he is cooperating with nucleic acid testing and screening, and has no impact on business operations. All personnel are working on the spot, except for a few who have been to Lukou Airport and are now isolated at home. It has little impact on production, but logistics becomes an obstacle.
Traffic control was strengthened, and all domestic, international and regional flights from Nanjing to August 11 were cancelled.
An unnamed employee of a large panel manufacturing company told the Global Times that logistics services were delayed due to these measures, which meant that timely delivery of goods was impossible.
The company talked with domestic and foreign customers and gained their understanding.
Despite the outbreak of the epidemic in Nanjing, industry experts said that Nanjing’s position in the domestic electronics production supply chain that has developed over many years will not be easily broken. A high degree of automation on the production line also helps.
But experts said that if the epidemic worsens, logistical hurdles could cause further disruption to businesses.
Following the spread of Nanjing in eastern Jiangsu Province from China to the city, Zhangjiajie in Hunan Province in central China has become another key point for the resurgence of the COVID19 epidemic that has swept across China.
Beijing reported two newly confirmed cases of infection at noon on Thursday and were found to have traveled to Zhangjiajie.
In addition to Beijing, many cities across the country, including Chengdu in Sichuan Province, Dalian in Liaoning Province, Changde in Hunan Province, Huai’an in Jiangsu Province, and Yubei District in Chongqing, have reported confirmed cases, but no confirmed cases have been reported. I have been to Nanjing but have been to Zhangjiajie or have close contact with people who have been to Zhangjiajie and have tested positive for COVID19.
As of Thursday, there were at least 18 cases of fever-related infections in Zhangjiajie, China.
A close examination of the cases revealed that the performance of more than 2,000 people was held at the charming Xiangxi Theater in the area from 6 to 7 pm on July 22. Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie was the source of the second round of live broadcast.
According to media reports, more than 2,000 people watched the performance that night, and there was no room for the audience to sit together. Although audiences are required to wear masks when they enter the theater, the staff cannot ensure that all audiences wear masks throughout the performance.
Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan District Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that on Monday, more than 2,900 artists and staff in the Wulingyuan Theater and scenic spot had a nucleic acid test and the results were all negative. Local authorities will soon organize the second round of nucleic acid testing.
The head of the local CDC told the media that they have obtained the list of all participants on July 22 and will contact miological investigation
Prior to this, local health departments and CDCs in Dalian, Zhangjiajie and Chengdu discovered that there may be a chain of transmission between flights and passengers from Nanjing to Zhangjiajie.
3 Dalian passengers flew to Nanjing Lukou International Airport, stayed for 2 hours and then transferred to another flight to Zhangjiajie. They visited various tourist attractions in Zhangjiajie, and also visited three tourists from Chengdu. After returning to Dalian and Chengdu, all six tourists tested positive for COVID19.
