Next summer in Italy, Sam Fender will be attending two Bruce Springsteen concerts to show his support for his musical idol.
The Boss will embark on a tour of Europe with The E Street Band the following summer. Prior to that, in May, he will be supported by Fender — he himself is nicknamed “Geordie Springsteen” — at two concerts in Ferrara and Rome. Next summer, The Boss will go on tour in Europe with The E Street Band.
On Twitter, the singer expressed his thoughts by writing, “I’m thinking about the moment when [Springsteen’s] music first resonated with me when I was a teenager!”
“I’ll be opening for him in Italy the following year. What the devil could be going on?
At Parco Urbano G. Bassani at Ferrari on May 18 and again at Rome’s Circo Massimo on May 21, Fender will be performing alongside Springsteen at both venues.

Fender discussed the “Geordie Springsteen” label he was given in an interview with NME for the 2021 cover, saying, “I can’t dismiss these comparisons, can I?
He continued by saying, “At the same time, I don’t feel worthy of this label.” When I first heard that, my first thought was, “That is fucking disgusting.” However, you don’t want to spend the rest of your life riding on the coattails of the Boss, so you shouldn’t do that.
My songs are all unique, and Bruce Springsteen’s voice does not even come close to resembling mine. I can write my own songs. I don’t have his growl; when I sing, I sound more like a little fairy.”In the summer of 2019, Fender will also perform as the headlining act at St. James’ Park, which is also the location where Bruce Springsteen performed in 1985 and where Fender’s godfather was a fan.
When asked about the impact that Springsteen’s music had on his own work, he told the NME, “I think my biggest hero, Springsteen, never stopped singing about his house.” He never quit writing about different kinds of individuals.
“I believe this to be a fact; just because things are going swimmingly around here does not imply that I should completely lose touch with what it’s like to be a human,”
