Blue Lock: When Will Episode 8 Be Available?

After Kuon’s betrayal, Team Z no longer knows how to score. Thankfully, Chigiri awakens and reveals his unique weapon. Here are the details for Episode 8 of Blue Lock.

What is Blue Lock?

Blue Lock is a Japanese manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura, serialised since August 2018 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine.

After the Japanese national soccer team was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup, the Japan Football Union hires a mysterious guy dubbed Ego Jinpachi to enhance Japan’s World Cup performance. His objective is to bring 300 U-18 attackers to the newly formed Blue Lock facility and, through hard and cruel training, build the best striker in the world.

However, only one forward will earn the privilege to be Japan’s next national striker; the other 299 will never be permitted to play for the national side. Yoichi Isagi, who just suffered a devastating loss at the National High School Football Qualifiers because he gave the ball to a teammate instead of taking the shot himself, is one of the selected 300.

The series follows Yoichi Isagi and the other forwards as they compete to develop their egos and become the world’s top strikers.

Inspiration Behind Blue Lock

Recently, Blue Lock creator Muneyuki Kaneshiro sat down for an interview with Gendai Media to discuss his interest in football and his inspiration for developing the original manga series.

Kaneshiro elaborated on how I have liked football since I was a child, especially watching the Japanese national team, and I have participated in many soccer games.

Chigiri’s speed was his special weapon in high school. Additionally, he was teammates with the Wanima brothers. Their coach liked Chigiri, who was frequently referred to as a genius. However, following his injuries, things were no longer the same. The Wanima brothers would make fun of him, and he was no longer as brilliant as he once was.

Chigiri was prepared to abandon his soccer career, but Isagi yells at Chigiri to move. The remaining members of the crew are beginning to feel the pressure as time begins to run short. Chigiri observes Isagi’s desire to win and recalls his former self.

Chigiri finally overcomes his fear and begins to run. Isagi detects a scoring opportunity and delivers the ball to Chigiri. The opposition side is unable to match Chigiri’s speed. He scores a goal soon before the finish of the game.

The game concludes in a tie, giving Team Z a second opportunity in Blue Lock. The squad overhears Kuon attempting to sell their secrets to their next opponent in the cafeteria. The squad members decline Kuon’s offer, and they finally meet their next opponents.
