The seventh season of Below Deck Mediterranean premiered on July 11 and features one of the most diverse and international personnel in the show’s history.
The yachties originate from various countries and backgrounds, and have varying levels of industry experience. The crew must unite despite their differences in order to have a fruitful charter season for their guests.
Watching people from all walks of life work together towards a common objective is one of the things that viewers enjoy most about the Below Deck franchises.
Below Deck Med Season 7 Cast
Kyle Viljoen
Growing up in South Africa wasn’t always simple for Kyle, who revealed on Below Deck Med that attending an all-boys school required him to conceal his sexuality.
A 12-year relationship was also “constantly concealed.” In the premiere episode, Kyle stated, “Keeping that all to myself severely harmed me.”
Kyle disclosed that he came out as gay a year prior to Below Deck Med Season 7, and he now allows his humour and personality to flourish.
During his tenure on the East Coast, the stew gained experience working on private, charter, and sailing vessels. He currently resides in New York. His first position was as chief stew on a 42-meter yacht, and he has since held that position on several other vessels.
Mzi “Zee” Dempers
Mzi “Zee” Dempers (Instagram account) is another familiar character on this season of Below Deck Med, alongside Captain Sandy. The deckhand, initially from Durban, South Africa, was introduced to us in Season 6.
Zee was inspired to enter the yachting industry by his siblings, who currently serve as captain and chief officer. After completing his education in Cape Town, Zee began his journey at sea.
After receiving encouragement from Captain Sandy in the first season of Below Deck: Mediterranean, Zee is now paying it forward by recommending his childhood companion Storm to the crew.
As revealed in the Season 7 premiere, Zee and Storm used to compete against one another in water polo as children. “When I was 13 years old, Storm appeared to be 18 years old, and we were terrified of him.
During the episode, Zee disclosed in an interview that the man had hair everywhere. Since the age of 13, he’s maintained the same moustache.
Captain Sandy Yawn
Since Season 2, we are accustomed to seeing Captain Sandy in the Mediterranean as the commander of Below Deck Med. However, she hails from much closer waters, having been born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Captain Sandy always knew she wanted her life to revolve around the water, and before she became the respected leader she is today, she began her career in the yachting industry just like any other sailor, as she reminded us in the Season 7 premiere of Below Deck Med.
As she helped shift some equipment, Captain Sandy informed the primary charter guest, “This is how I got my start.” “I just didn’t start piloting a boat.”
Now, with more than three decades of experience in yachting, Captain Sandy has made it her mission to mentor others in the industry, particularly assisting women to enter the more male-dominated areas of watercraft.
Captain Sandy encouraged this season’s bosun, Raygan, by stating, “To be able to give this opportunity to a woman on deck is incredible because someone gave me this opportunity.” Therefore, I wish to be able to extend that further.
Captain Sandy traverses the United States when she is not at the helm of the Below Deck Med yacht, previously relocating to Los Angeles and then Denver to be with her girlfriend, Leah Shafer after they began dating. Captain Sandy and Leah are currently constructing a home in the Jacksonville region of Florida, where they plan to relocate once construction is complete.

Natasha Webb
Natasha’s upbringing in West Yorkshire may seem unrelated to the yachting industry. Natasha developed a strong work ethic while growing up in a small village in the English countryside, working as a golf caddy, bartender, nanny, teacher, and actor before entering the yachting industry about ten years ago.
Natasha began her career on smaller vessels and worked her way up to the position of senior stew on motor yachts longer than 100 meters.
Natasha explained in the Season 7 première of Below Deck Med how she acquired her cheerful disposition as a chief stew. “In the past, I’ve worked for individuals who screamed and cursed at me, and I dislike being surrounded by negativity.
“I felt like a peacemaker when my parents divorced when I was 6 years old,” Natasha said in an interview during the episode. Therefore, it is crucial that I continue to experience pleasure around me.
Natasha revealed that she developed a passion for spectacle at a young age, which has served her well when entertaining charter guests. “My greatest strength is theme gatherings. Natasha stated on Below Deck Med that her grandmother would take her and her sister to the theatre when she was a child in impoverished West Yorkshire.
“It felt electrifying,” she said. And to be able to amuse guests and make other people feel the way I did as a child is nothing short of magic.
John White
Dave was born and reared in the United Kingdom and began working in restaurants as a teenager. In an interview for the Season 7 premiere, the Below Deck Med chef said, “I place myself under so much pressure.” “I mean, my parents had no money, so at the age of 13, I worked as much as I could, washing pots in a busy restaurant, sweeping the floors, and doing all the s—t tasks.”
Before becoming a yacht chef roughly eight years ago, the chef ultimately worked in some of London’s most prestigious kitchens.
Dave has served as the chief chef on multiple vessels and now owns a seasonal restaurant in the southwest of France. Dave said on Below Deck Med that he was incredibly proud of it. However, it is extremely difficult to achieve accomplishment.
David has participated in extreme activities across the globe, including the ascent of Mount Everest. In 2014, he even won the British freestyle skiing championships.
Raygan Tyler
Raygan was born in Essex, England, but has lived in Turkey for nearly two decades. “I was born in Essex, England, and my parents purchased small enterprises in Turkey when I was 12,” she explained in an interview for the Season 7 premiere of Below Deck Med.
The bosun added that she has “calmed down a bit” since relocating to Turkey, but when she returns to her native country, her more boisterous side emerges. She shared, “When I’m in Essex, I’m probably just a loud individual.” “Everything that I feel and believe is out there.”
According to her bio on BravoTV.com, Raygan was “bitten by the travel bug at an early age” and “always knew she would live a nomadic existence.” Raygan began her yachting career in the interior, but after 12 years in the industry, she has acquired a wide spectrum of boating knowledge and will be leading the deck team in Season 7 of Below Deck Med.
Natalya Scudder
Natalya is from Australia, and prior to joining the Below Deck Med crew for Season 7, she was working as the solitary stew on a vessel in the Kimberley region, which was quite a departure from her previous experience at Home.
“It is very isolated. You handle everything in the department, including service, laundering, and babysitting. “I was in the kitchen,” Natalya stated in the Season 7 premiere regarding her previous position. Therefore, I’m extremely excited to board a boat with eight crew members.
According to her bio on BravoTV.com, the stew has always been drawn to the water, and she landed her first yachting position at the age of 18. Since then, Natalya has held the positions of both second stew and principal stew. She has even served prominent clients, such as multiple royal families.
Storm Smith
According to his bio on BravoTV.com, Storm was born and raised in South Africa, spending most of his time surfing or fishing at the seashore. Storm quickly fell in love with vessels and the maritime lifestyle. He even characterizes his appearance as “a contemporary pirate.”
Storm enrolled in culinary school and film school, but the water continued to beckon him, so he chose to pursue yachting. His expertise as a surf guide in Sumatra led him to a position on a charter yacht that specialized in surfing and diving. Since then, Storm has proceeded to construct vessels as long as 240 feet.
Jason Gaskell
While growing up in Indiana, Jason did not initially envision himself as a yachtsman. After graduating from Purdue University, Jason spent approximately eleven years in commodity trading. “After that company was acquired, I felt like a divorcee with a second chance at life.
I sold all my possessions and travelled abroad. I began decorating my nails roughly two years ago. “I grew my hair out on a wager,” he revealed in the Below Deck Med Season 7 premiere interview. “As you can see, it’s absurd, but I’m definitely one of the wild cards.”
During his travels around the world, Jason discovered his passion for sailing. In addition to being the captain of his own sailboat, he went on to serve as an apprentice, dockhand, and captain for numerous companies.
Even though Jason has extensive expertise with sailboats, Home is the first superyacht on which he has worked.
