This page has the answer if you’ve tried to get rid of Necrotic Aura in Baldur’s Gate 3 and found that it made things worse.
If you bring Gale with you on your adventures in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll probably run into something bad called Necrotic Aura. This character’s trait makes an aura appear around him when he dies.
This aura will hurt anyone who comes close to him until he comes back to life. But sometimes you might run into an embarrassing bug that makes this effect last forever and hurts your friends all the time. This guide will show you how to get rid of Baldur’s Gate 3’s Necrotic Aura.
The best way to get rid of the necrotic aura in Baldur’s Gate 3
Gale will be affected by Necrotic Aura if he gets knocked down in battle while in your party. This aura does 1-4 Necrotic damage to close allies and monsters every turn. He needs to be brought back to life with spells or some other method, and then his Necrotic Aura will go away.
But if your characters keep losing health and taking Necrotic damage after you bring Gale back to life, you’ve probably found a bug that makes this effect last forever. Luckily, this problem can be fixed in a number of ways. Let’s get to the main point and talk about these in more depth.
Use In-Game Saves
A simple way to avoid getting the constant Necrotic Aura bug is to save often, especially before bringing a dead Gale back to life.
There are some problems with this method, like the fact that you might lose your work when you load a save file. Though, it’s still much better than putting your friends in danger of getting hurt badly.
A Long Rest
First, we suggest that you play in turn-based mode, which lets you move each partner separately to keep them away from the dangerous Gale until you figure out a way to stop her.
You’ll need to find a camp where you can take a Long Rest after that. You can stop Necrotic Aura from hurting your friends in two different ways:
- Ask Gale to leave your group so that she doesn’t put other people in danger.
- Take a Long Rest as soon as you can.
For the first way, Gale will leave your group as soon as you tell him to stop traveling with you. So, he won’t be able to get to your friends and won’t be able to hurt them. However, it would be a shame to lose such a skilled spellcaster.
Also, you’ll need a lot of health for this strategy, as the conversation with Gale will last a long time and your whole team could die before it has ended.
It’s also pretty risky to use the second way since Gale will hurt your friends while you take Long Rest.
While he sleeps, he might wake up without a Necrotic Aura, but there is a chance that he will have a Bloodless effect. Also, by morning, all of your characters will probably be dead, so you’ll have to help the one who made it through to the next day and go to sleep again.
