The Street Outlaws Journey of Kye and Lizzy
Kye, who is from Mississippi, had made it very tough for other contestants to win the show because of her winning run. Regarding racing royalty, Lizzy, the daughter of legendary racer Pat Musi, had shown off her stealth on the racetrack on numerous occasions.
Lizzy and Kye’s personal relationships did not follow the same upward trend as their jobs. Following their introduction at the PDRA exhibition race, the two became fast friends. In 2017, Kye and Lizzy formally began dating after discovering their spark and mutual admiration. Years of affection and happiness ensued, despite a fierce competition.
Kye made the decision to advance their relationship after more than three years of dating. Lizzy accepted Kye’s declaration of love on the racetrack in 2021 after he proposed to her during an episode of “Street Outlaws.”
Although the pair had originally planned to get married in November 2022, they ultimately made the decision to delay their wedding until the following year. Soon later, the two got into a fight on “Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings” season 5.
The defending champion believed that Lizzy’s improved performance was merely an attempt to enhance her ego after Lizzy defeated Kye by reaching the finish line and won the Great 8 race’s first round.
Kye declared that he still wanted to finish first and earn points even though he didn’t care about the race’s financial outcome. Lizzy was just as angry as Kye, who felt wronged. Kye had made unnecessary noise, in Lizzy’s opinion.
In addition, she acknowledged that one incident alone had caused their relationship to spiral out of control, signaling an impending split. Naturally, rumors of a potential split were sparked by this uproar.
Why Did Kye and Lizzy Split Up?
To begin with, Lizzy and Kye began dating in early 2017 and became engaged a few years later. They were supposed to tie the knot in Kentwood, Louisiana, on November 19, 2023, but they never did.
Kye and Lizzy decided to end their relationship by the middle of 2023 after realizing it was too toxic. Later, in July 2023, Lizzy disclosed on Facebook that she had broken up with Kye because he had not been there for her during a trying period.
He only showed up for one of Lizzy’s doctor’s appointments and chemotherapy treatments, she claimed. “Due to Kye not being there during the toughest time of my life because of being busy with his racing operation, (I get it, that’s how he makes his living), [I broke up with him],” Lizzy wrote.
“He seldom ever [called] or [texted] to see how I was doing. I’m giving him credit where credit is due since he did help get me in,” she stated. “But feeling lonely on top of someone making you feel even more lonely [has] got to be the WORST feeling EVER.”
“Kye said he was tired of me being mean to him and ‘treating him like dog s–t all these years’ (Wish he could have dumped me sooner if that was the case if I made someone that miserable),” Lizzie went on. That was the primary reason he didn’t want to attempt to make things better, therefore it makes me feel awful that I made someone feel that way.”
“Are we done?” Lizzie remembered texting Kye. Simply answer “yes” or “no,” and he said, “I support your choice.”
Lizzie went on, “We left it like that,” “I tried talking to Kye to work on things but he refused and said he ‘just wanted to be friends.'”
Despite their unsuccessful relationship, it is clear that Lizzy was very special to Kye. Three days after her passing, on June 29, 2024, Kye reflected on their love on Instagram.
“We’re sure you’ve all heard the news by now,” he wrote in his statement. We all considered Lizzy to be family. Right now, it’s really hard to find the right words to express. Please remember our friend’s friends and family in your prayers and thoughts as we grieve her passing.
This weekend, she will be cycling with all of us. The note was signed “Team KKR,” and he scrawled “Fly High Elizabeth” on the windows of the car he drove to a recent race following her passing.
