tiktok ban in us government

After India, America is also going to ban the TikTok mobile app. President Donald Trump has said that he will ban this Chinese app in the US because intelligence agencies have been worried about it many times.

Speaking to the media, Trump said, “As far as TikTok is concerned, we are going to ban it in America.” For the past several days, the ban on TikTok was being speculated.

Order will be released Soon

Trump said he could use emergency powers to enforce the ban. Emphasizing this, Trump said, “I have powers. The order will come into force soon.”

Microsoft may buy TikTok – Report

Trump’s statement came after reports surfaced that the government may ask the Chinese company ByteDance to sell TikTok. There were also reports that giant Microsoft is in talks to buy this app.

On Friday, TikTok released a statement saying, “We do not comment on rumors and speculations. We are hopeful of TikTok’s success in the future.”

TikTok against Facebook and Snapchat

BiteDance launched TikTok in 2017. Subsequently, the company purchased the video service Musically and combined the two into a new look.

It became increasingly popular in India, America and Europe. Its success can be gauged from the fact that it is competing with Facebook and Snapchat. Before the ban, it was one of the most used apps in India.

TikTok accuses of sharing data with China

Questions arise over the TikTok about the ownership of the Chinese company. It also alleged that it censors content that is critical of China and shares its users’ data with the Chinese government.

However, TikTok has always denied these allegations. She says that she neither censors the video nor the data are shared with the Chinese government.

The investigation is going on in the US against ByteDance

In November last year, the US government launched an investigation into the acquisition of a music app against Beijing-based TikTok’s owner, ByteDance. Bytdance acquired Musically for a billion dollars.

After this, earlier this year, the use of TikTok by American soldiers was banned. Last month, Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo hinted that the US might ban TikTok.
