A Rivalry Between Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger Led to the Creation of “Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.”

Sylvester Stallone has revealed that his long-running feud with Arnold Schwarzenegger was the driving force for his decision to star in the comedic bomb Stop! Or My Mother Will Have Me Shot.

This weekend, the Hollywood actor will be a guest on The Jonathan Ross Show, where he will discuss how his competitive nature led him to make a poor choice for his professional life in order to gain an advantage over his rival in the acting world.

The comedy from 1992 stars Sylvester Stallone as a stern police officer, and Estelle Getty as his mother, who portrays a short, bossy woman who comes to visit her son and finds up working alongside him.

Stallone has stated in the past that it is the worst picture he has ever made, and it received negative reviews; yet, the Rocky actor claims that Schwarzenegger fooled him into taking the major part in the film.

Since the 1970s, the two had been in direct competition with one another, and they never made any attempt to hide their animosity for one another.

When I was on Jonathan Ross, we were discussing Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, Stallone warns Schwarzenegger, referring to his mother: “We detested one another so much that we couldn’t even bear to be in the same galaxy at the same time for a short period of time.

“He’s quite intelligent. He tells everyone in town, “I can’t wait to shoot this picture…,” so I tell my agency, “Get that thing away from him.” He continues to spread excitement about the project. Get people to consider their options towards me.’ I got it, and when I did, I remarked, “What a piece of s*** this is,” and he said, “Ha ha ha! ’”

Stallone mentions Arnold Schwarzenegger’s role as a pregnant guy in the comedy Junior, which was released in 1994 “At least I didn’t have to play a pregnant character in the movie, Arnold. We’re even.”

In an earlier interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the host of the talk programme Stop! or My Mom Will Shoot, Arnold Schwarzenegger explained his side of the tale as follows: “When I read the script, all I could think was that it was a piece of garbage. Let’s be honest. I tell myself, ‘I’m not going to do this movie…’ Then they go to Sly, and Sly calls me and asks, ‘have they ever talked to you about doing this movie?’ I say to myself, ‘I’m not going to do this movie.’ ‘

“And I said, ‘yes, I was thinking about doing it. This is a really brilliant idea, this movie.’ When he heard that, because he was in competition, he said, ‘Whatever it takes, I’ll do the movie.’ And of course, the movie went majorly down the drain.” [Case in point:] “And I said, ‘yes, I was thinking about doing it. This is a really brilliant idea, this movie.]”

During his visit on Jonathan Ross, Stallone also confesses that he almost played the role of Superman in one of his movies.

He claims, “I tried out for the role of Superman, but I’d have been the world’s shortest Superman, and I don’t look good in leotards at all.”
