6 Soldiers including Army Major killed in a Bomb Blast – Pakistan
At least six security personnel, including an army major, have been hit by a roadside military patrol vehicle in the Balochistan province of southwestern Pakistan bordering Iran.
The army said in a statement on Friday that a vehicle from the Paramilitary Frontier Corps was targeted through a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) in Bulda area of the Kech district, about 14 km from the Iranian border. According to the army, “one major and five soldiers were killed while one soldier was injured.”
Although no one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, Baloch militants often target security forces in the province. Security sources said that the place where the blast took place is monitored round the clock due to suspicious activity by smugglers and rebels in the outpost area.
A search operation has been launched by security forces in the area to locate those involved in the attack. Explain that this is the first major attack on forces in Balochistan since the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
